Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor & Project Manager

 

We are currently growing and looking for a Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager with, or without, experience in either/both roles.

Salary: £20k-£25k DOE
Hours: 35 PW
Location: Worthing, West Sussex (with travel around the UK - mainly London)

About the Role:

As a hybrid QS/PM you will have a varied job role; perfect for someone looking for something different from the corporate environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the managing of cost plans and cost estimate

  • Assist the procurement and tendering process including main contractor and client direct contractors

  • Assist the preparation and management of project programmes

  • Assist pre-construction meetings with clients, designers, landlords and any other stakeholders

  • Assist site meetings with contractors and clients

  • Assist client liaison

  • Maintain good client and contractor relationships

  • Assist interim payments

  • Assist the negotiations of variations and final accounts

  • Have an awareness of contractual requirements for projects (mainly JCT)

Requirements:

  • Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or similar

  • A great team player who has client-facing confidence, shows initiative, and thrives in a challenging and rewarding environment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time

  • Someone looking to add value, passion and personality to the business

Advantages:

  • Currently pursuing your RICS APC

  • Experience in the construction industry

  • Have an understanding of measurement, take off and bill production expertise, and associated IT literacy

This is a hybrid role. We are generally based in our office in Worthing on Mondays and Fridays and then visit sites for the remainder of the week or work from home. The projects we manage are mainly based in the UK, with the majority being located in London.
